Can real estate investors be good for our communities?

The answer is no, unless it is a community conscious real estate investor. The goal of a real estate investor is to make money, not consider the needs of the community. Most investors are not concerned about the negative impact of their investments on society, consider cigarette makers. What benefit does smoking provide? I don't smoke, and I can't think of a benefit smoking provides anyone. However billions of dollars in cigarettes are sold every year in this country. The real estate investor is no different, they are looking for properties that they can buy under market value and sell it to make a profit. Now I am not trying to compare cigarette makers to realtors. The point I would like to make is that when a real estate investor buys a home in your neighborhood it is not neccessarily a good thing. However if a community conscious investor purchase a property in your neighborhood the possibilities are endless.
